Just breathe, basic advice but good to remember.
Life at times can feel so complicated, technology is great, but I am sure pen and paper was so much easier. Now we have so many ways for people to contact us, phone, text, messenger, WhatsApp, Emails and now work have asked us to use Instagram! First, I need to learn about hashtags. This is just one of the new words I know but have no idea what it means.
I am so grateful that our relationship with God is so much simpler. That being said, am I the only one who feels nervous of this interaction at times? For example, I would like to be a spectator of a Pentecost experience, but would rather not have flames on my head.
Near the beginning of lockdown I was reading about the resurrection appearances of Jesus and one in particular spoke peace to my timid soul.
John 20: 19-23
Later on that day, the disciples had gathered together, but, fearful of the Jews, had locked all the doors in the house. Jesus entered, stood among them, and said, “Peace to you.” Then he showed them his hands and side. The disciples, seeing the Master with their own eyes, were exuberant. Jesus repeated his greeting: “Peace to you. Just as the Father sent me, I send you.” Then he took a deep breath and breathed into them. “Receive the Holy Spirit,”
I am grateful that the bible is so honest about the humanness of the disciples. They were fearful, they locked themselves away. In April of this year we were afraid and locked in. However then and now Jesus could not be locked out, he appeared to his disciples not needing to come in the door.
His message was of peace, I love that God equipped his disciples by breathing his Holy Spirit onto them. This sounds so gentle, it is easy for me to ask God to breathe on me.
Everyday I need God’s equipping for life, everyday I need His help. I am so grateful that I can come even if a little fearful of the day ahead and pray Lord breathe your power into my life, please equip me for the day ahead.

I think the Rend song Yahweh is an excellent prayer.
You’re my oxygen, my very breath
And source of life, the source of rest
Oh I need You
You’re the wind that fills, these fragile sails
You carry me, through crashing waves
Oh I need You
Oh
I’m breathing, You in
Yahweh, Yahweh
Breathing You in
Yahweh, Yahweh
Breathing, You in
Yahweh, Yahweh
Breathing You in
Yeah
Stars would have no shine, without Your word
So be the spark, Lord let me burn
Oh I need You
Oh I need You
Burning, within
Yahweh, Yahweh
Burning, within
Yahweh, Yahweh
Burning, within
Yahweh, Yahweh
Burning, within
Oh yeah
You are the great I Am, seated upon the throne
Nothing can take Your place in my heart
I’m bringing all I am, standing with lifted hands
Nothing can take Your place in my heart
In my heart oh
Singing, Your name
Yahweh, Yahweh
Singing, Your name…
